The annual King Holiday Observance celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Global citizens can unite in celebration through engaging events leading up to January 20th, 2025.

Theme for 2025: Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice, and Democracy in the Spirit of Nonviolence365. This theme guides our events and programming, inspired by Dr. King’s pioneering work and Mrs. Coretta Scott King’s continuation of his legacy.

national volunteer week

National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to recognize the impact of volunteer service and the power of volunteers to tackle society’s greatest challenges, to build stronger communities and be a force that transforms the world. It takes place every April during Global Volunteer Month.

Each year, we shine a light on the people and causes that inspire us to serve, recognizing and thanking volunteers who lend their time, talent and voice to make a difference in their communities.

Earth Day is honored around the world on April 22, although larger events such as festivals and rallies are often organized for the weekends before or after April 22. Many communities also observe Earth Week or Earth Month, organizing a series of environmental activities throughout the month of April.
