Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta Days of Service

Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta were civil rights activists dedicated to advocating for farmworkers’ labor rights.

Together, they co-founded the United Farm Workers Union (UFW). Established in 1962, UFW became the nation’s first enduring agricultural labor union, playing a pivotal role in achieving safer working conditions and fair wages for farmworkers.

Cesar Chavez Day is a federal holiday observed annually on March 31st, while Dolores Huerta Day is celebrated in California every April 10th, coinciding with her birthday.

We invite you to commemorate the enduring impact of these two iconic figures by engaging in our Days of Service Week, spanning from Cesar Chavez Day to Dolores Huerta Day.
